As a part of our drive to improve and raise attainment, we need your help in developing the reading skills of all our children.
Reading is a key part of the education of your child and a key life skill. We need to create more opportunities for every child to be heard reading.
We would welcome any parents/grandparents who can commit to a set time per week to come in and listen to children read. To support this initiative we are going to hold a training session, open to everyone, on listening and supporting children in their reading. This training session will also benefit you listening to your child reading at home, and if you are also able to come into school to support us that would be great.
Coming into school to listen to readers could be done at a time that would suit both you and us, perhaps at the start of the school day or toward the end of the day.
If you would like to attend our ‘reading’ training session, please email the school and also tell us which time would suit you best from the following choices
A. 9.15 – 10.15am
B. 4.30 – 5.30pm
C. 6.00 – 7.00pm
D. Another time to those above – tell us when you contact us.
I hope you can help and I look forward to hearing from you.
