This morning we used ‘The Man on the Moon’ Christmas advert released by John Lewis as a stimulus to discuss people who are not as fortunate as us, and those who may be spending Christmas differently. As part of this discussion, we talked about older people living in care homes. We talked about how they probably have Christmas dinner together and play games, although some of them may have family members who come to collect them or spend time with them over Christmas. Our thoughts turned to those who may not have many family members left to look after them at Christmas or many gifts given to them. Because of this, we created 3D snowman cards and wrote lovely messages in them to remind them that we are thinking of them this Christmas. We will be sending them to a local care home this week.
