Manor Farm goes Gold!

Manor Farm goes Gold!

Last week in assembly Manor Farm were presented with Sainsbury’s School Games Gold Award. The award was presented to some year 6 Sports leaders, by our School Games Co-ordinator, Joe Gleeson. This award recognises an amazing commitment to school sport from pupils and staff.

This is a fantastic achievement recognising our school’s commitment to PE and Sport. During the assembly we were praised by our School Sport’s Partnership Co-ordinator for our outstanding achievement. Not many schools have been able to achieve this National Award. To receive the Gold award the school had to demonstrate a commitment to involving as many pupils as possible in a wide variety of sports. This included entering several teams across all year groups in Inter School competitions, including badminton, tennis, cheerleading, dance, cross country as well as the more traditional football and netball. It also recognised the value of developing leadership skills through sport.

Well done everyone!

Now we have another Olympic Year of sport to look forward to and be inspired.

Thank you so much for inviting me along to assembly to see the school being presented with this very prestigious award. This is a fantastic achievement and illustrates how the school not only provides pupils with the chance to take part and compete in several different sports, but also how the school provides the opportunity for pupils to develop leadership and coaching skills for their futures. Very well done Manor Farm – you should be very proud of this achievement!

Thank you, Mrs Lewis, for your kind comments. It’s so good to have the support of our governing body in this important aspect of school life, helping us to develop well rounded, active pupils. A positive attitude to keeping healthy is so important as it hopefully sets our pupils on their way to a future healthy lifestyle.
