Day 5 – our fifth and final day in the River Dart.
Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 spent the morning raft building whilst groups 5 and 6 had the crate stacking and zip line activities. They were absolutely brilliant (but very tired) and loved every second of it.
Following our activities we had a very quick tidy and pack, resulting in a massive sort out in the drying room where there were piles and piles of clothes left behind! We have a bin bag full of things which were left behind so if you spot that your child is missing something then please come and let us know next week (but please not Monday morning!)
We then had a packed lunch on the picnic benches and were awarded with our certificates for our week. These were very well deserved!
We are SO proud of the children; they have pushed themselves to their limits, smiled loads and had a fantastic time. The centre have been absolutely brilliant and really encouraged the children to challenge themselves and because of this, they have achieved far more than they set out to. We could not have had better children to take away with us! We would take them again in a heartbeat.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend… minus the lovely washing your child has come home with! (I do not envy you as you open the bag full of damp, musty and muddy clothes!!) More importantly, I hope you are also being treated to some fantastic stories of our time. Thank you for all of your lovely comments whilst collecting your children and your messages via the blog every day. We are so happy and pleased that you feel you have been able to keep track of what we have been doing and it was totally worthwhile when we saw your messages every evening.
If you would like any of the original pictures, please send your child in with a USB next week and I can put them on there for you. Alternatively, you can save them from the website (although Day 1 blog photos were very small!)
This is us over and out for the very last time. Thank you for making our trip brilliant. See you all on Monday morning, where the fun doesn’t stop as we have production to get started with!
We love you Year 6! You’re all amazing!
