Rocket Science Update

Rocket Science update –

It is now day 14 since we planted our seeds. We have taken some readings this week of their progress.

These are our findings:

  • More seeds have germinated from the Red A packet than the Blue B packet.
  • All but two of the seeds that have germinated have now grown two ‘true’ leaves.
  • We had to move a couple of seedlings out of their pot as two stems had grown.
  • 72% of our A seeds have germinated and only 63% of our B seeds have germinated.

Other Science Club information –

Meg Cheshire brought in a ‘colour explosion’ experiment, she used full fat milk, food colouring and soap to make a firework of colours.

Ben Read brought in an experiment to make a cloud in a bottle, he used a pump, blu-tac,  a clear bottle and 200ml of hot water.

As a club we have suspended a non organic and an organic sweet potato in a small amount of water, we are monitoring to see if there will be any different changes to each potato over the coming weeks – what do you think will happen to them?

Science Club looks fun. Your seed test looks really well organised. I like the way you try out your own experiments too. Suggestion: blobs of paint dropped on paper washed with water mixed with icing sugar makes a great colour explosion too – like fireworks exploding.

    Science club is great fun

It looks great fun Ben – I wish I could join!
