On Friday 24th June 2016, Mrs Lees and I were thrilled to meet six of the chosen Pixl children at the Dominion Theatre in London. After a slightly delayed train, we all arrived safely and were greeted with drinks and cookies.
The children were shown to their seats at the very front and marvelled at the beautiful theatre. The show commenced with songs, dances and folk bands. One by one the schools were announced and the pupils were welcomed to take a bow on stage and collect their WHSmith voucher from Olympic gold medallist and former World Champion James Cracknell. More songs, shows and aspirational speeches proceeded and a fantastic hula hoop routine marked the end of the celebrations.
Every Pixl student worked incredibly hard throughout the year but these six showed extra determination, focus and effort and stood out as worthy winners. Huge Congratulations to Ellie-May Appleby, Leah Colgan, Kara Diamond-Anderson, Zak Winslade, Thomas Rendell and Seb Cokayne. All of year six are proud of those children chosen.
