We had another amazing Sports Day on Friday. The day started with a ‘shake and wake’ session at registration before the ‘games’ got under way. Once again we had a mix of regular athletics activities alongside ‘old favourites’, such as the ‘egg and spoon’ and ‘sack’ races. The weather was kind to us, not too hot and no rain! As well as all our competitors having an enjoyable time, it was wonderful to see them supported by so many parents, who contributed to the atmosphere and added to the excitement. Thank you to all of you who were able to come along and be a part of our Sports Day. It was also great to see parents stay on after the event and have a picnic lunch with their child, which helped to create a real ‘community’ occasion.
My thanks go to Mr Miles, Mr Green, Mrs Payne and Mrs Pilgrim for organising the event and to Mrs Thomas, Mrs Sumner and Mrs Cheshire for running the refreshments stall providing tea and coffee. Thanks also to Mrs Ketley for capturing the day with the photographs you can see. Well done Hawks for coming first, for the second year running.
