On Friday 23rd September 2016, I went with three other children from year 4 to a maths competition. It was at Davenies School in Beaconsfield. We went with Mrs Payne. There were lots of schools, (I think around twenty), taking part.
We solved maths puzzles. There was a teacher from Davenies (I think!) timing us. One of my favourite puzzles was a challenge called, ‘What’s next?’ You needed to finish off a sequence. Another favourite of mine was a dominoes game where you had to put the dominoes in the right places. We also played ‘Make 24’, where we were given a set of numbers and using adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing we had to make 24. We did lots of other challenges too!!
The afternoon was loads of fun and I liked representing Manor Farm Junior School.
