Manor Farm Girls Football Team Tournament

Team: Amy © Evie Isla Lila Ellie Alana Jessica Ruby

In the first game Manor Farm played Gateway school and we started off well as Amy played the ball through to Evie and she scored, 1-0. We continued strong which led to another goal and Evie scored again. The score finished 2-0. We kept our team spirit going and next we played Haughton. Evie scored a hat trick and we won 3-0 which meant we were in the semi-finals.

We were up against St Pauls who we had already played recently in the final of our last competition. It was very tough and Isla, Lila and Alana kicked the ball up the pitch and kept very strong. As it was very even, so it went to extra time and still no one scored. That meant it went to penalties. The first penalty Amy stepped up and scored in the bottom right corner. Then Amy went in goal but they scored the penalty Evie stepped up and hit the post. Then they scored again. Next Ruby scored which meant it was 2-2 but they still had a penalty in hand. Amy dived and saved their 3rd penalty! After that Isla missed but was very close. Luckily Amy saved their penalty which meant it went to sudden death. Jessica stepped up and scored in the bottom left corner. If Amy saved the next penalty Manor Farm were through to the final.  As we were waiting all nervous Amy saved the penalty.

In the final we were up against a strong team called Gerard’s Cross and we tried our hardest but unfortunately we went 1-0 down. We tried our best to come back but the whistle went and the game was over. We got some little trophies and were very happy that we got to the final.
