Due in on Tuesday 21st March
This week we have had Arts week. The children have had a fantastic time making different pieces of ‘Under the Sea’ themed artwork.
For homework this week, we would like you to write an evaluation and review of one of your favourite activities from this week. You could include what you had to do, how you felt about your artwork and why it was your favourite.
We did many different activities this week that you could choose from to describe and evaluate including:
– Street Dance
– Shark Pictures
– Clay Turtles
– Sea Horse Pastel Pictures
– Watercolour Creatures
– Porthole Crafts
– Wonderful World Trees
– Under the Sea themed Dance
– CD Fish
– Silhouette Sea pictures
– Flowers in a Jar creations
– Scuba Pictures
You will need to spend at least 20 minutes on this piece of work and use fantastic punctuation and handwriting. It can be written on the computer or in your best handwriting on a plain piece of paper with decorations to show what you created. We may be choosing the best pieces to go up in our Arts Exhibition in the final week of this term, so try your very best with your sentences!
We are continuing to check Home School Books every Monday. Remember you need at least four readings each week with an adult signature. If you record more than four readings then the amount of house points that you could get increases too!
We will be back to normal with our time table next week, so in order to prepare for our first Cracking Times Tables in two weeks it would be a good time for you to practise. We have had many levels recently and lots of you have improved your scores. Well done! We can’t wait to see how many more of you get your levels next week!
Have a great weekend!

ARTs Week homework
You have two options to choose from. Either enter the Arts week competition which you received information on last week or write a review on Arts Week. If you can‘t find competition information from last Friday, please find the information in the spare homework folder.
If you choose to do the Arts Week review, you need to describe what you did during the week, what you learnt and what you particularly enjoyed. Please write this neatly on plain paper or type it up.
Make sure your homework is named.
You have been given a new spelling list by your teacher and are expected to write at least FIVE spelling sentences to show that you understand what the words mean. Do not pick the five easiest spellings – challenge yourself and use a dictionary to help you. These will be checked next Friday during the next spelling lesson – let’s see who can get 3 house points!
Cracking Times Tables
Please keep working on your times tables and try and beat your score from last week! We will be looking for those children who are really trying to improve each week. The Government state that all children should know their tables up to 10×10 by the end of Year 4.
Don’t forget your Home School Book on Monday and make sure you have recorded all of your reading properly. We will be looking for a new ‘Reader of the Week’ and expect AT LEAST four reading entries in the Home School Book.
Well done Year 4 this week, I hope you enjoyed it and have a great weekend.
After a fantastic Arts Week in year 5, your homework this week is to enter the Arts week competition which you received information on last week. Also, don’t forget to practise your songs and actions ready for Monday’s concert at The Royal Albert Hall! (the songs are all on the website to help you).
SATs revision books –
Reading Book 1 – Read pages 33, 34 and 35- then answer the questions on pages 36, 37 and 38
Number, Ratio and Algebra Book- Pages 32, 33 and 34 on Patterns and Sequences
Please complete your arithmetic corrections, from your test on Friday, in your homework book. This is a great opportunity for your parents to help you with strategies and for you to build your confidence. The more you practise, the better you will do! This is also due in on a Tuesday.
This week you have the ent and ant ending to learn. Please make sure you learn these thoroughly, and write a sentence for each spelling. We are looking for detailed sentences, which don’t only show that you know how to use the word, but also show what a great writer you are.
Reading and Times Tables
Please ensure you read 4 times and record this in your Home School Book for Monday. If you haven’t been ‘Reader of the Week’ this year, then push yourself this week to see if you can read more or write better comments! Being ‘Reader of the Week’ would be a great goal to aim for! Make sure you are also practising your times tables, so that you are ready to improve your score or even reach your next level next week!
