STEM Science Fair

On Tuesday, 4 Year 5 children and 3 Year 6 children had the fantastic opportunity to attend the STEM science fair at Green Park. This great event was organised by Bucks Learning Trust and was open to all schools in Buckinghamshire and Oxford.

The Year 5’s took part in a Knex Car building workshop in which Pranavv and Liam built a fantastic car that moved a massive 3 Meters – they were still at the top of the leader board by the end of day one!
They also were part of an Earth Science workshop, where they were able to investigate and analyse fossils.
The Year 6 children had to present their Science experiment they had been working on in Science club to 6 other schools and their teachers, plus 3 judges from county. They did fantastically well, out of 90 schools that entered the competition to begin with, our team came…….2nd!!! I was so proud of the girls- scientists in the making!
All the children also had the chance to wander around the fair where they could have a go at various interactive exhibits.
It was a very well organised event that hopefully inspired the children even further with their Science and they all came back to school full of stories for the rest of the school.
Well done to all the children involved.
