DOWNLEY GIRLS TOURNAMENT 2017
It was a mild and windy Wednesday afternoon. 10 year 6 girls: Mia, Natalie, Evie, Kelsey, Brooke, Jessica B, Jessica H, Tamiya, Naomi and Ellie, set off to the Downley School and an Under 11 girls football tournament. With Mrs White as their coach and Mrs Pilgrim as the transporter, the girls were hopeful for the tournament.
The first match caught the girls off guard. They played an experienced team. The girls lost 1-0 after an okay goal from the opposition and such a powerful hit from the other team it broke the goal…literally!
2nd match came and went. The 7 mins went past with the speed of light. After several missed opportunities and close calls the final score was ( drum roll please!!!) 0-0
The 3rd match was the worst match of all. They took Natalie, Evie and Kelsey off. The Manor Farm Girls conceived not 1 not 2 but 3 goals.
4th match was the best. We took Mia out of goal and put her up front. Mia scored our one and only goal with an amazing shot from in the box. Mrs White kept the subs rolling, taking 3 people out in 1 match.
We came joint 3rd with Kingshill Junior. We left with our spirits high knowing all we needed to win was a bit more practise.
WE REALLY APPRECIATE EVERYTHING AND WE DID AMAZING NO MATTER WHAT.
