Year 3 Trip to the Chiltern Open Air Museum
On Wednesday, Year 3 visited the Chiltern Open Air Museum to learn more about the Stone Age. Both classes took part in a Mesolithic workshop, where we all learnt how tribes hunted animals for food, clothing and tools, how to use animal skin to cover shelters, and how to make fire using flint! The children enjoyed asking the tribe leader questions about her life and how she survived during this time period. Our second workshop was a shelter building activity. We worked as part of teams to try to build the sturdiest and most secure shelter. Each group worked incredibly hard to listen to each other and take it in turns to sort and move the sticks.
We all had a fantastic day and learnt so much ready for our History lessons this term.
