Due in on Tuesday 11th December
Can I solve word problems?
For your maths homework this week, we would like you to attempt at least 6 word problems from the sheet that has been given to you.
You should remember to write a beautifully neat date and title in your maths homework book, and underline them with a ruler. This week, you may work on the sheet provided and then stick it in your book.
Please complete your homework using a pencil.
Remember we also expect you to read at home at least 4 times a week and record this in your Home School Book. We will collect home school books in every Monday to look at your reading record for the previous week and will be awarding house points for the amount of reading you have completed.
Also remember to practise your times tables for our cracking times tables test on Monday.
If you ever have any trouble completing your homework please come and speak to us.

Can I solve problems involving fractions?
Over the last week we have been looking at fractions. For homework, you have been given some questions to answer which you need to complete in your book. This is the same work as you have done in class so should be completed to a high standard. Please make sure you have your date and LC in your book – many of you didn’t last week. Please work neatly and show any calculations.
This is a busy few weeks…a few other things you will need.
For next week’s art lesson on Thursday 13th December please can you have a picture of the inside of one of your rooms at home – this could a picture of your living room or kitchen. OR it could be a great opportunity for you to tidy your bedroom before taking a picture!
As you are tidying your bedroom, can you find an odd white, black or brown sock? Please can you also bring enough dried rice or lentils or beans to fill your sock as you will need this in our activity. Please bring these to school on Friday 14th December.
You should also make sure you are word perfect for our Christmas performances next week and your costumes MUST be in school on Monday 10th December at the latest. On Wednesday 12th December and Thursday 13th December please arrive at school between 6:00 and 6:20pm ready for our performance to start at 6:30pm. Please come across the courtyard to 5As classroom where both classes will be together. We are first on stage, but there is no reason to come before 6pm please.
Parents: The Christmas performance will last around an hour with an approximate finish time of 7:30. Please can you collect your children from 5As classroom which is across the courtyard. If your child is being collected by someone else, please can you let us know via a note in your child’s home school book. Thank you
Your homework this week is to mark your teachers boring writing! You should think about fantastic adjectives, effective punctuation, exciting openers, complex sentences and all of the areas we talk to you about every day in English. There are many boring sentences with lots of full stops that you need to change and make more interesting to read. Please spend at least half an hour on this – you should draft interesting sentences before deciding on your final piece to submit for homework.
Please continue to read as often as you can. Some of you are forgetting to bring your home school book in – please remember! Make sure you are also learning your times tables.
