Title: Can I complete a reading comprehension?
Ahead of our forthcoming work on poetry, we would like you to complete the reading comprehension task that has been given to you.
Please write your answers in your homework book. Remember, we will be looking for beautiful presentation and an underlined date/title.
Times Tables and Reading
Make sure you are also learning your times tables every day. We do Cracking Times Tables every Monday.
Remember we expect you to record at least 4 pieces of reading in your Home School Book. We will collect home school books in every Monday. Please make sure you get an adult to sign your book.
Mrs Jones and Ms Roome
Can I answer a range of grammar?
In our SPAG lessons we have looked at many new things this year, but it is also important to remind ourselves of things we have looked at before. For homework, you have been given some questions to answer which you need to complete on the sheet. Please make sure you work neatly and carefully. We shall be going through your answers on Monday afternoon. This means if there are any questions you have found really tricky we can go through this with you.
For art next week, please can you bring with you some magazines. We are going to try and create some class collages so will be cutting them up. Please show your parents which magazines you are bringing, before we cut up one they haven’t read yet! If you have any yoghurt pots or newspaper at home these would also be useful.
Year 6 Audition Parts
There are two parts below, it is your choice which one you learn and practise ready for next week. Remember, the more effort you put in, the more chance you have of getting the part you would like. We will be looking for confident speaking with a clear, loud voice, as well as being able to act like the character. Good luck!
(The Caveys scream and exit, running with hands in the air. Rocky calls after them to no avail, and continues to talk not seeing a large dinosaur walk slowly across the stage behind him.)
Rocky: No! Wait! Come back! There’s no ferocious monster! I’m Chair of the Residents’ Association. I’m in charge round here. I’m eagle eyed, quick witted, always alert! If there was a ferocious monster about, I’d be the first to know.
Lady Lava: I’ll brew a magic potion to put everyone under my spell! Then I’ll force Bobby Cobblestone to make me young forever! (dramatically) I’ll be Queen of all time. Past, present and future! (louder) Past, present and future! (madly maniacal) Past, present and future!
We will hold auditions on Wednesday morning. There are also singing parts available, which we will need to cast. If you would like to be considered for a singing part, then please make sure you come prepared to sing a song of your choice. It doesn’t need to be a whole song, but should be at least a few lines.
