YEAR 3 ANCIENT EGYPTIAN DAY
On Thursday 4th April, we turned back time and transported ourselves to the Ancient Egyptian era. As well as experiencing what life was like in Egypt during the 14th Century BC, the children were able to make their own artefacts including: clay charms and canopic jars, embalming ointments, hieroglyphics on papyrus and even bread! During the afternoon, we took part in an amazing, Ancient Egyptian feast after performing traditional tales and dancing for the Pharaoh and Queen Nefertiti. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and participated fantastically well. It truly was an excellent way of putting everything we have learnt in history into ‘real life’. Thank you so much to all our helpers who gave up their time, and to those who provided such wonderful costumes for the children.
