Y6 Residential Day Three

Today has flown by with the children taking part in a range of different activities.

High ropes: High ropes again today was a challenge for many of the children. It was really great to see how they pushed themselves, and each other, to go further than they thought possible. For those without fear, they have really been there to support and help their friends along the way. These children also had a go at crate building and the zip-wire. The zip-wire was very long and very high taking in some wonderful views of the lake and surrounding countryside.

Canoeing, Kayaking and Caving: Today the children learnt the basic skills of both kayaking and canoeing, they then used these to play a variety of games on the water. They had a great time and managed to stay afloat! Caving also proved a hit, a highlight being the mudslide. Many of the children were nervous about the caves, due to the dark and confined spaces; however, they have all come out with a good story to tell and have the other children very excited for their turn on Thursday.

Yet again the children have amazed us with their resilience and determination to overcome their fears. They have been so supportive of one another and celebrated together with each and every personal success. They are really growing in confidence and maturing in the way they are take on new challenges. We can’t believe it’s the last full day tomorrow… time flies when you’re having fun!
