Title: Can I write an informal letter?

This week we would like you to write an informal letter in your English Homework books. There is no need to include an address, but you must begin your letter with a greeting.

We will be looking for an underlined date and title, and that the presentation of your work is beautiful and neat.

Times Tables and Reading

Make sure you are also learning your times tables every day. We do Cracking Times Tables every Monday.

Remember we expect you to record at least 4 pieces of reading in your Home School Book. We will collect home school books in every Monday. Please make sure you get an adult to sign your book.

Can I write a book review?

At Manor Farm we have recently given the library a makeover. We have lots of new, exciting books and want to encourage each other in our reading. In year 5 we have been writing book reviews to help other children across the school find a book that they will love. We have drafted our reviews in class and for homework this week we would like the children publish their review to go in the library.

Reviews can be written by hand or typed on the computer. They need to be neat, bright and eye catching, in order to capture the imagination of potential readers. Remember this is a piece of best work.

Year 6
