Ex-Olympian visits Manor Farm!

On Monday, both Year 3 and 4 classes received a hockey training session, run by John Shaw, an ex-Olympian and World Cup silver medalist. John played for England and Great Britain between 1984 and 1996 and also coached the England U21 and U16 squads!

The pupils were very lucky to have such an amazing player and coach visit the school and to teach them some new skills. Whilst taking part in some fun exercises, they learnt how to move around the hockey pitch, to communicate (without talking) and how to hold the stick and control the ball correctly. It was great to see so many children enjoy the session and to show such enthusiasm. We would like to say a huge thank you to John, and to Wycombe Hockey Club for providing the opportunity for all our pupils. Years 5 and 6 will have a turn next month!
