Year 5

Mrs Sheldon’s Maths group Maths Homework.

Friday 13th February – due on Tuesday 17th March

Can I subtract fractions?

Over the past week we have been looking at fractions. For homework, you need to work on subtracting fractions, you need to complete the questions on the sheet. You can work on the sheet or in your book.  Remember your title and date, and to keep your work as neat as you can.

Miss Wolfe Mrs Baker Maths group Maths Homework.

Friday 13th February – due on Tuesday 17th March

Can I add or subtract fractions?

We have worked really hard on adding and subtracting fractions. This is quite tricky and needs a good knowledge of equivalent fractions and converting between mixed and improper fractions. For your homework you have been given a sheet – you must work on the sheet and stick it into your Maths homework book.

Some of you have adding fractions where you have to match the post box with the sum on to the postcard with the answer – you will need to be able to change your answer to a mixed number.

Some of you have subtraction where you have to colour a stained glass window according to the size of your answer. Again you will need to work with mixed numbers.

Work slowly and steadily. Remember all we have learnt about common denominators. You can do working out in your book if you need to. Good luck!
